HOSA Students Shine at State Conference
Several members of the Grayson County CATE Center Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) Chapter competed at the State Leadership Conference held March 13-15, 2015 at Williamsburg, Virginia. We are proud of all students who attended and represented our school in various competitive events. (not pictured)--5th Place in Community Awareness; Nick B.--1st Place in Human Growth & Development; Tammy Hawks, HOSA Adviser, and Brent H.--2nd Place in Human Growth & Development. Nick and Brent will compete at the HOSA National Conference this June in Anaheim, California.
School Board Proclaims February as CTE Month
At the February meeting of the Grayson County School Board, February was designated as Career and Technical Education Month in Grayson County Public Schools. Superintendent Kevin Chalfant and Chairman Hobert Bailey signed and presented the proclamation shown above. In celebration of CTE Month and to show appreciation to the Board for its' support, attendees enjoyed refreshments prepared by the CATE Center Culinary Arts classes.

Students Certify as Microsoft Office Specialists
Students in Mrs. Sharon Reeves' Advanced CIS class recently certified as Microsoft Office Specialists in Microsoft Word. Congratulations to the group for a great job!!
Shop Night for 2014-2015
The Grayson County Career and Technical Education Center will be hosting shop night in the Agricultural Education Department Shop. Shop night will begin on September 11 and occur every Thursday night until Thursday, May 15, 2015, unless Grayson County Public Schools are closed. The shop doors will be open from 5:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. Woodworking, welding, and other metalworking tools are available to assist you in building small projects and/or repairing farm machinery. Agriculture instructors will be present to teach participants how to use any of the tools. A small fee will be charged to pay for material and equipment use. Planing is limited to 200 linear ft./person per night. The Agriculture Department is located on back side of the Grayson County High School Campus—turn onto Mill Avenue (across from The Quick Chek/Paul’s Restaurant) and bear left at the bottom of the hill.
